North Uganda Water Project
Through over 20 years of civil war, the northern regions of Uganda is suffering a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions. Thousands of people have been displaced, and basic resources such as clean drinking water are scarce if not nonexistent. In one community of about 1000 residents, including children in a small orphanage called Acres of Hope, the only water source is a severely polluted river that is not suitable for drinking. Our goal is to first bring them life saving water filters to address the immediate need of the orphanage and surrounding area, then we hope to build a well capable of supplying the entire community with clean, life saving water.
